Are you looking for a way to make some extra cash?  I guess you are, In fact you and just about everybody else I know, So you must be wondering if you really can turn £1,000 in to £100,000 in less than twelve months. It sounds impossible I know and only a  few people will be that successful but you could  literally turn £1,000 in to £100,000 trading CFD's in Forex Commodities or Indices.
The point I am trying to make is this, Whilst you probably think you'd  need £10,000, £20,000 or even £30,000 to have a chance of making any money investing in the financial markets. The straight truth is, You could open a live trading account and start trading Forex micro lot's with a deposit from as little as £500 with some brokers.
I fear I am getting ahead of myself  here but I must say, "£1,000 is a more realistic minimum and £3,000 to £5,000 would be a more typical  investment proposition."  Fortunately, Before you start investing real money in this business you can open a virtual £10,000 practice account that has no risk to your capital allowing you time to hone your skills, Learn how to make trades and Build both your experience and your confidence before investing any money in to a trading account.
You won't make any real money until you open a live account and fund it with hard cash that is true, However this must be the best offer you have ever seen. The opportunity to practice a new profession, Learn skills that could transform your finances, Discover how you can take control of your investments and make your money do all the hard work for you. All this with absolutely no risk to your capital because a trial account is Free and with no obligation what so ever, You don't even need commit to investing a single Penney.

Firstly,
I want to introduce you to the broker I use for all of my CFD trades, "London Capital  Group Ltd."  One of many great things about L.C.G. Is the fact they will give you a fantastic free demo account with a virtual £10,000 Balance that will allow you to prove all I am about to tell you, before you even invest a single dime. But more importantly they are a very respectable company registered in the U.K. and also registered  members of the L.S.E.  (London Stock Exchange)  Regulated by FSA  (Financial Services Authority). Once you have an account with L.C.G. you will receive an e-mail every day giving you an update on the main events of the previous days trading. A great way to follow events that are affecting the markets on a day to day basis and with absolutely no cost to yourself. All the staff  at L.C.G. are very easy to speak to and eager to help, They will not rush you to fund your account before you are sure you are ready to trade, They like me want you to make lot's and lot's of money.

Secondly,
I want to introduce you to a trading platform called Meta Trader 4 (MT4). This is a program you can run on your P.C. that will enable you to place trades with your broker at any time you like day or night just so long as your broker supports the Meta Trader Platform (ie. London Capital Group) and the market you wish to trade is open. Many markets are open to trade much longer than you may expect and some like Forex are open 24 Hrs a day Monday till Friday.

Two big advantages with Meta Trader are :

1. The ability to to trade automatically day or night using a program called an Expert Advisor.
2. The professional charts that are provided for you to analyze how the markets are behaving.

Together these two things give you an unbelievable advantage over trading financial market in a more traditional or old fashioned way like buying and selling options on the stock market using a Stock Broker or a Bank, not to mention how much cheaper it is in most cases to trade a CFD rather than buy and sell stocks or options on the stock market !

Thirdly,
I want want to introduce you to the basic principals of using charts and moving averages to analyze the market. If you want to make serious money trading Forex or other CFD's  you will need to learn how to read charts and be confident when you want to open or close a trade. It may take a little time to master but that's why you should use your free Demo account to learn your skills.

Is This A Genuine Investment Business or Just A Gamble ?

This is a great question, No doubt about it. One I am sure every body would like to ask. It was one question I felt compelled to to answer before even considering making a trade. I have never been a gambler and I don't bet, I don't bet on Dog's, Horses, Football Matches or even the National Lottery so I asked myself exactly the same question. It may sound a little daft to you but it was important to answer this question simply because the phrase "place a trade" can so easily be substituted by the phase "place a bet" and like I say, " I don't bet."

To understand this question, Let alone the answer, I would like you to consider one or two facts that may influence your thoughts.

Margin trades such as these account for a large part of all Professional Investment Funds and could be considered industry standard for Forex (Foreign Exchange) Trades. You may be interested to know that Forex trades are believed to amount to around four trillion dollars every day, Now that's a huge market.

If you are a person of business, You will understand the risk you take when you invest thousands if not tens or hundreds of thousands of pounds in a business venture. So I ask you, Is that an Investment or a Gamble. I guess it must be both. So you see it's not straight forward to define the difference between an Investment and a Gamble, You may even say any Investment is a Gamble.

If your not a person of business or at least haven't been in business before, Then this is a much bigger question for you, Especially if you have spent years saving to get your Investment money together. After all you wouldn't just put all that money on a horse would you, No of course not, And you shouldn't risk all your life saving on one Investment either.

Remember the one thing that makes a CFD more attractive than it's equivalent asset purchase is the one thing that ads to the risk. That is to say with a CFD you're trading on margin which means you can purchase much more of a given asset on a CFD than you would have the capital to buy in hard assets. This is because you only have to finance the required margin and not the whole asset purchase, They call this Leverage and with Leverage you inherit Risk.

So yes there is risk on the downside, However some professional investors make millions of dollars every year and some even make billions of dollars every year so yes the financial markets offer a Genuine Investment and Business Opportunity for sure and yes like all Investments and Business's there's an element of risk or something of a gamble involved. The one great thing about this business, Unlike any other business I know is the way you can practice your business and test your skills before you Invest.

The difference between a trade and a bet is subtle but here it is, If you want to place a trade you have all the options. You decide when to open the trade, You decide when to close the trade, you decide if you want to hedge the trade and you decide if you want to reverse the trade. I ask you, Do you know of any bet that gives you all that control ? Can you tell a bookmaker the race isn't over yet, Or he has to pay you now because your horse is in front ? No of course not. So yes there is risk, Yes it can be something of a gamble but if you ask me is it just a bet, Then no not at all, It's what they call a speculative investment proposition.

A few questions answered.

  1. What are CFD's,

  2. What is trading on margin,

  3. What is short selling,

  4. What is spot FX,

1.  A CFD is simply a Contract For Difference, that means you trade a contract for a specific commodity , equity  or  forex pair based upon the price you buy or sell that contract.
For example, lets say Brent Crude Oil is trading at $75.00 per barrel and you buy a CFD for 100 barrels.
The price then goes up to $76.00 per barrel and you have just made $100.00.
But remember if it had gone down to $74.00 per barrel you would be down $100.00.
You can close contracts, extend or rollover contracts as you see fit whether they are in profit or loss that's up to you.

2.  Trading on margin is the deposit required to cover any potential losses a trade may incur. For example your trade of 100 barrels of Brent Crude at $75.00 is worth 100 x $75.00 or $7500.00 but would require only about $75.00 free margin in your account but remember for every $1.00 it drops you would need a further $100.00  in your account to maintain that free margin.

3.  Short selling is the term for selling a contract rather than buying a contract in this case you profit from the price falling. The easiest way to understand this is to imagine you sell someone, something  (Oil, Gold, Forex or Equities) that you have not yet bought in the hope you can buy them cheaper before you close your contract. If you buy a contract (Open a Long Position) you must sell a contract to close your Long position. if you sell a contract (Open a Short Position) you must buy a contract to close your Short  position. The difference between the buy price and the sell price multiplied by the amount you bought or sold is your profit or loss i.e. contract for difference (CFD).

4.  Spot FX is the spot price for foreign exchange and is quoted in pairs, for example Euro/Usd. You simultaneously buy one and sell the other, so if you buy Euro's you are selling Usd and if you sell Euro's you are buying Usd's and your profit or loss is based on the second quoted currency in this case Dollars.
